Great specs at a bargain price!
Pros: Meets all my needs: 512 gb SSD, 16 gb memory, expandable storage (room for second SSD in the future), great graphics, 11th gen i5 processor. Windows 11 ready (in fact, already updated). Easy setup. I used Google drive to access all my old files.
Con: Touchpad a little sensitive. I turned off the two and three finger motions and reduced the sensitivity. Speakers are so-so: nothing special.
Summary: A bargain - at least $300 less than comparable computers from other suppliers.

It has a great RAM, and a loooot of space for my games and files. I use my computer to do several videocalls per day, work, study and play. I can have a Teams meeting, listen music on Spotify, search something in the internet and play on Steam at the same time without any issues. The camera it’s so good compared to others brands that are more expensive. The sound is great, the picture it’s awesome for the price, you can even download windows 11. The only things I don’t like is having to hold the ON button for a “long period” (5 seconds or so) to wake up the laptop and how easily the protectors from under the laptop fall, I had to change them. Besides that it’s great! (I bought this laptop a year ago and it still works great, I haven’t had any problem at all).Sofia

Buy it !!!I didn’t know Gateway was back, so I did a little research and found out that the NAME had been purchased by Acer. Acer is pretty good. But then I found out that Acer had subcontracted their Gateway computer manufacturing to a Chinese company called Evoo. Apparently, Evoo can make both good and less than good quality machinery (but so does Dell and HP. You can still buy Dell and HP Celeron-powered 4-gig laptops with 64gb ssd that run out of room after a major update) but the specs on this Gateway laptop were so good for the price of $340, I couldn’t pass it up. So far this machine has blown me away. I purchased it to play older fps games such as Quake 1-4, Arena, Quake Live and Valorant. Other than getting my pride handed to me while playing Valorant and getting called a NOOB and cursed out by 12 year-olds, I’m loving this machine. 11th Gen i5 500gb ssd 16gb ram (biggest difference) Iris XE graphics are plenty strong to play these light FPS games smoothly. You won’t find a machine with specs like this for DOUBLE the price. So far loving it, and it’s very quiet. Very highly recommended. Evoo is a huge brand in China, and it’s Walmart’s house brand (called a Gateway) so I figure they have decent support seeing that there’s a Walmart in every town.Benjamin

Like most computers on the sides, it has plastic protection for the glass, but for this one, it didn't. I thought it would be fine, but when it accidentally slipped, it broke. I've only used this computer for 9 months. The quality isn't good at all. My Lenovo computer fell many times and lasted for a longer time cause of its protection on the sides and the quality. I don't recommend buying this item at all. If you buy this product you just wasted $375.Penda

I purchased this laptop because I have owned Gateway computers in the past and they worked without issue. Gateway says to not return it to the store but to contact their customer support. Every time I contacted customer support, they just want me to reboot my modem, claiming the problem is not on their end but faulty WiFi, even though this is the only device having issues. I have to spend 10 minutes repairing the hard drive every time I want to boot the device in order for it to be semi-functional for brief periods. Even after repairing the hard drive, numerous functions cause the laptop to blue screen and I am back to square one. Seems Gateway has deteriorated the way that HP has. Won't purchase another Gateway device due to this experience.Ona

However, in early August the laptop screen started to separate from screen and now it is completely detached. I am so disappointed in the manufacturing quality given the screen separated within a year. Son is starting middle school and cannot use it and is so disappointed. walmart cannot help and working with Gateway on repair/return. Will update on how it goes.BlkFriday

Then I brought it back to Indonesia and just a few days a go the screen had multiple horizontal lines flickers. Tried to find Gateway customer service to no avail, the Acer company in Asia no longer accepts Gateway Laptop service. The I send for regular service and paid USD 30. VERY DISAPPOINTED.Unknown

It comes well protected with anime and the necessary protective plastics, so you can rest easy when transporting it. It has a good screen, vivid colors, and the size is great. It is not heavy, so you can move it from side to side without losing your arms. The startup of the laptop is very fast so after pressing the power button you can start using it in about 6-7 seconds, which is always something to be appreciated. When I bought this laptop I did it looking for a team that would allow me to work creating content quickly and fluidly, something that it totally achieved. Something that helps is its battery, which in its normal distribution lasts about 6 hours. If you are looking to play, there are other teams that can give you better performance, as this is not designed for it. Sure, it can process light games and run them very well, but for others a little more demanding, its limitations will be noticed. Do you want to use it to watch series or movies? No problem! The image is sharp and the sound is great. Max volume is fine. Of course, if you want incredibly immersive sound, you should invest in a good pair of external speakers. If it is not necessary for you (like me) you have nothing to worry about: the laptop will do the job and you will not miss any detail. The only thing I'm not happy with is the top and the trackpad. They stain VERY easily with casual use, but the rest is an effective, attractive and very useful equipment. I would buy it again.Carlos

Some fairly low end components where it doesn't matter so much (keyboard, speakers, etc.). Screen is okay - the HDMI output is also just okay. I get HD resolution @ 60hz on my 2K 32" monitor. Good enough for my purposes. Performance is on par with other 11th gen i5 systems. The Iris Xe graphics chip is okay for what it is. The fingerprint scanner works mostly. I'm not a gamer but it does run GTA V smoothly with high visuals. Installed Fedora 35 and fell in love with this cheap laptop. It performs very well with a decent Linux system installed. Blender performance is solid. Decent machine.Michael

My only qualm about this product is the fact that it only has two USB ports and no Ethernet port. I had to purchase and Ethernet adapter, since I work from home and need a straight line to my internet. Other than that beautiful and internal features are great. One last hick up was after I installed the newest version of windows, which is window 11. My computer crashed, so just heed my warning. Microsoft still has to work out a few more kinks.EMichelle

I've done every trick from the book and still get the dreadful blue screen, so now I'm sure that there's a hardware problem... probably the hard disk. The keyboard feels amazing, it's capable of windows 11 and the gestures on it is just blissful. I have also cloud gamed on this via gamepass and it paired with my USB controller greatly. The Bluetooth leaves more to be desired for and you can visibly see it struggling in certain games like Gears 5 or Apex.Other than that it's great for quick open and play then swap to work with ease. The fingerprint scanner is pretty hit or miss though. It consistently can not read my finger and forces me to type in a pin. Would be better with out it honestly.4/5 would recommend.Devin

My son spent three days trying to get it to work. It was the last thing to worry about. The laptop black screens after a period of time after logging in. All that can be done is trying to shut down by pressing the power button. I had to switch his laptop with a better brand. I tried restoring the initial computer configuration. The laptop is unable to reinstall its initial configuration and errors. Now the laptop is a brick. I advise you to take a look at gateway's support website. I wish I look at it before my purchase. Support is totally lacking from their website. There is only an 866 number which reviews say is very unhelpful. I would NOT recommend this product.richard

Quality on this laptop is pretty good, the cover is aluminum while the bottom is plastic. It doesn't flex and the keystrokes feel solid. The fingerprint reader is pretty useless. The screen is full hd (1080p) and looks great, it's a little shiny if the light hits it right. The trackpad is alright, clicking and dragging is a bit of a pain. Overall, I would recommend this laptop to someone on a budget for an everyday machine.Mike

I expected that this might slow down this computer but it is very fast. The thing I like most is the speed of the wireless internet connection.
