Excellent space heater.
I'm writing this review without having actually used the heater in a cold climate. It is now August with temps in the mid 80's. However I did plug the unit in and tested all the controls and everything worked as expected. The unit heated up very quickly. There are four settings on the power control, on/off, fan only, low heat, high heat. The unit also has a separate thermostat control which can be used so the unit will maintain the temperature by cycling the unit on and off. With the thermostat set on the lowest setting and the power control on fan only it can be used in warmer weather as a close up fan. The heater has two built in safety controls. It has a tip over shut off function which will cut the unit off if it is knocked over. It also has an overheat shut off function which prevents the unit from causing a fire hazard from overheating. Judging by the size of the unit I believe it will be adequate for small areas such as work spaces or smaller rooms. Overall it is a solid unit and well made.

It's OK - good for some applications
It is in a sturdy plastic case ("built tough") and has easy to use controls on the top. Different from most other heaters of this type, the air is drawn in below on the front and exhausted out the top, so you could place it in front of drapes or the like without worrying about them being drawn into the unit. A few downsides: the wattage of the low power setting is not listed on the unit, have to refer to the owner's manual (its 750W) - prefer it on the unit to reference if I'm worried about the wiring's ability to support the full draw. More worrisome - since the exhaust is pretty concentrated on the top part of the grill, that part of the grill gets pretty hot. Presumably, the plastic walls are supposed to keep that part of the grill from touching flammables in the event the unit tipped forward, but there's not much clearance - if you had a nappy carpet, I'd worry about some localized melting. Presumably it had to pass some kind of underwriters test for this, but I don't think I'd trust it around carpet. My older unit has big steel loops that give more than an inch of clearance. That seems more appropriate to me.

    Gets the job done!
This is a great little heater and performs exactly as expected for what you need it to do. It's sturdy on it's feet, heats up super quick and can heat up a small room or garage within minutes. I'd recommend it for a smaller space where you need to be comfortable in those colder months. I do wish it had a few more options for heat other than low and high but appreciate the fan option a lot when it's not quite cold enough yet for heat. Packaging was wonderful through delivery! Very carefully wrapped with multiple layers of bubble wrap!

    Not Around Kids
The house I live in was built in the late 50's so the type of insulation we see being used in homes today was not used in my house with that being said my house is really cold during the winter. This heaters temperature adjust from 750W to 1500W that's the same temperature that my oscillating heaters put out and that's really hot. The controls are easy to understand once you read the instructions. The heater does not oscillate. The heating element is at the top and there's a fan at the bottom so the top half of the heater gets hot while the lower half is cooler but I would not recommend using it around kids. Since it only blows forward I would think it's more of a personal unit rather than for use with a group of people. This would be good for a workshop or basement where it could be safely sat on a table to be more effective than sitting on the floor. It's been my experience that oscillating heaters are more effective for heating large spaces but this I would use in a smaller space. The outer construction is very sturdy also there is a red light that stays on as long as its plugged into a power source so then all you have to do is turn the knob to turn it on so again if there are curious kids around I would keep it unplugged. To sum it all up this is a durable easy to use hot heater that should not be used around children without adult supervision.

    Very useful heater!
I am pretty impressed with this heater! It's super light weight, tip over and over heating safety features. It has a fan setting and 2 heater settings. Can really warm up a room. I live in Chicago area s d it definitely can be brutal during the winter time so I will get a lot of use out of this heater.

    Its durable and works well.
The first thing I noticed was how much easier this heater is to tote from room to room as needed. The handle really makes this so much easier for taking around as I need it and also just to move it from on spot to another. Now with this heater I can have it against the wall so it is out of the way and I do not need to worry about tripping over it. The heat and air flow of this really does a great job of warming up a cold room. I have not had to use it much so far but I know it will be used a great deal more as the cold weather comes. I really am pleased with the features of this heater and how well it works. The cord being able to wrap around on the back makes this easy to store as well when not in use.

    Not just for the garage
I really like the look of the space heater. The black and silver theme has an industrial feel to it. This heater is marketed towards a garage, Workshop, or basement, but I would put this heater in any room of my house. It has a tip over feature that shuts the heater off if it accidentally Falls over. It has easy to read settings that are also easy to use. The heat comes out of the front of the machine but it also has a recirculation feature on the front of the machine that helps the heat the room quickly and recirculate the hot air quickly.

    Perfect for Winter Months
The Built-Tough Utility Heater is amazing. I opened up the box (which was packed really well), and it was super easy to get started. I figured that I would have to plug it in, turn it on and wait awhile for it to get hot...but wow - it was warm within seconds!! You have a few different options for just fan, low and high. The air is very warm, but the unit doesn't get hot. Great size, has a way for the cord to wrap around the back easily and store really well. Quality unit and will be perfect for our room in the winter when it gets super cold. I would definitely recommend it!

    Perfect size working in garage
It's 90 degrees outside but I wanted to try out my new heater. I plugged it in while working in garage Wow does this little heater put out some heat and it really circulates the heat. It's small but powerful. I like the soft cushion carrying handle for moving it around. The heater is also pretty quiet as well. If you have the need, I recommend this great one.
