    I really wanted to like this, but it's a few steps from being a well built product. The LED is definitely bright - it was the brightest I could find and out at night with no big lights near it will illuminate your whole area. The problem is there is no hood, which I didn't think of at the time of purchase. The other problem is that the lid holding on the batteries pops off very easily, and after only a few times of doing so it bent the battery connectors to the point that I can't get it to work when it is fully closed.

    Great Lantern, VERY bright.
    I bought this light because our power went out one night and I was left sitting in a dark creaky house all alone. Our power is on an old grid which constantly breaks down, but now I am prepared with this lantern. It is very bright, lights most of the room and can be hung from a small hook I use for house plants. Husband also likes to take it camping. Do take the batteries out when not in use though. The light button constantly blinks and will eventually drain the batteries in about a year (according to my husband). I found it easy to put batteries in.

    Bright!
    A bit hard to get new batteries in, you'll have to carefully line up a notched short post, then push down real hard before turning clockwise to lock bottom on again.
