Excellent Night's Sleep
I was given the terrific opportunity to check out and review a new Sealy Response Performance 12" Cushion Firm Mattress through Wal-Mart's Spark review program. I did have some reservations about going back to an innerspring mattress as the one it was replacing was a memory foam that had served me well for years but had started to show its age a bit. I chose a firm model as it is easier to soften a firm mattress with a topper than to firm up a soft mattress. I found that there was no need for a topper to be used as the firm did plenty to support me and yet remained soft enough to be comfy. I am sure that the mattress will last the entire 10-year warranty period. I did notice that the sizing of the actual mattress is not a true twin sizing. I don't know if this has become standard across the industry. The standard sizing for a twin is 39 inches wide and 75 inches in length, this mattress, however, measures 38 inches across and 74 inches in length. I've attached a copy of the shipping tag with this review. The only downfall to this off size is that your sheets will not stay taught and will wrinkle up a bit as you sleep. Over-all I am very pleased with this mattress and hope to make comfortable use of it for many years, it deserves the 5-star rating I posted.

This mattress topper adds too much height and heat for our liking. With it on, we literally have to hop on to the bed. It did add comfort to our mattress, but it made is both too warm while sleeping. Kept waking up sweaty. He runs hot, so that wasn't really a surprise, but I am usually cold, and it made me uncomfortably warm.

    So far so good.. 6 months in.. Stank immensely upon delivery, had to air it out for two weeks before it was usable. Nice firmness, 4.3 on a scale of 1-5. No sagging so far. Good for back. Not on the thicker side. Good buy.

    5 stars so far!! I've only had this mattress set for a month and a half. Have turned it one time so far to wear it in equally hence it's a queen, but only used by one person. So far, it's holding up, confirms to your body without making a "big hole," for your body to shrink into like a foldable ironing table!! Awww!! I went with very firm, so no pillow top for me, I figured it makes me feel like the bed us that much more stronger, therefore that much better constructed together of only the most costly fabrics, & whatever else in in those! It still lyes at 3"-14" wide which is physical proof it can handle my 210 pounds, while keeping my spine and neck straight! P.S. When purchasing a new mattress set, please oh God please make sure to donate your old pillows, & purchase new ones. What good is a new mattress if you're still using 2" think 1960's pillows. Pillows take a huge part in your sleep. The correct pillow will keep your torso in the correct position to allow yourself to have a wide open throat, enabling you to breath correctly. I actually was approved by my physician that I did not have to wear my CPAP (sleep apnea) machine anymore, due to the way this mattress set opened up my lungs. Now I'm breathing better, and the best part is, well it's all natural!

    Buy this!
    Bought this mattress for my 11 yo son as we moved him from a loft bed to a full size bed. He loves it! Says it's so comfy! Order was easy. Delivery was wonderful. Great quality. Awesome price - better than any comparable mattresses we found anywhere locally or online. You can't go wrong with this mattress.

    Great daybed upgrade
    I used this mattress to make a much-needed upgrade to my daybed. My original mattress was too soft, too thin (about half the depth of this one) and had grown incredibly uncomfortable. This one is firm, 12" deep and ohh sooo comfortable!!

    A great night's sleep
    We got this Sealy Response Performance 12 inch Cushion Firm Mattress to replace a cheap queen mattress in our RV. I could not be more pleased as this is a firm mattress wih a very soft layer on top. Our old mattress was thin and lumpy. This is an American made high quality mattress. Before I installed the mattress I was worried that it might be too wide for the space in our RV but it fit like a glove. When traveling I expect to get a good night's sleep for many years. Older queen sheets may not fit because of its thickness, but newer fitted sheets fit perfect. You can use this mattress with or without a foundation. We are using it without a foundation in our RV and it sleeps great. I would recommend this mattress to anyone who likes a firm mattress. It probably is more comfortable than the higher priced one in my bedroom in the house. It is a high quality made in the USA product.

    Disappointed it didn't have a more cushion top!
    I had originally selected this product back in August, through the Spark Reviewer Program. So when I hadn't received it in September, I contacted the program to look into it. They sent me an email letting me know they had contacted the Company, an apologised. Thank you team! When it finally arrived and I got it set up, the first thing I noticed was that the top cushion wasn't very thick, a little disappointing. Also I noticed a downside to this mattress being that only one side has fabric/foam, so being able to turn the mattress over is not possible! The appearance was great though and I could tell it was very well made. This mattress for me seems to be in between one of those tempurpedic an a regular spring mattress. It also suppose to have an air flow layer that is to keep you cooler? Although after putting on my sheets, I didn't feel any cooler so I don't know how to comment fully on that feature. Since this mattress is suppose to be somewhat firm, its not too hard, but definately not s soft mattress either. Since my old mattress had a lot thicker top cushion and softer, I loved sleeping in it. But since I have over the past few years developed lower back pain, I thought getting one a little firmer would help. I have only slept on it a couple of weeks now, but haven't really seen much improvement in my pain. Although my sister told me it would take awhile for my body to get use to it, since that happened to her. Got my fingers crossed!!!

    Finally, a good night's sleep!!!
    I had a pillow-top mattress before this one and it was very soft. I have several bulging discs in my lower back and this definitely conforms and supports my back so much better. With the old one I woke up with numb spots down my legs and with this one I did not. I slept very well and did not wake up in the night as I usually do. What a blessing to get a full night's sleep! This is a very light weight mattress and quite easy to put on the bed. In fact, when I got it it was so light I couldn't believe it would be firm, but it really is. It's a very pretty mattress as well. There seems to be a 2 or 3 inch layer of memory foam on top of the very firm portion of the mattress, so the mattress conforms and supports you however you sleep. I'm usually a side or maybe a back sleeper. Being able to sleep without being able to feel springs is great, too. I like that is is higher than my old mattress so the sheets fit much better. I would highly recommend this mattress to anyone with lower back problems. It is wonderful and I wish I had gotten this sooner!

    Sealy firm tight mattress
    My husband and I both absolutely love this mattress! We both feel like we are getting a better night sleep. It's firm, but not stiff or hard. My husband has a lot of back issues and he has been feeling better and sleeping better since we got this mattress. It says it's 12", but I honestly think it's even thicker than that. I recommend getting "deep pocket" fitted sheets for it. It had a slight odor the 1st few days, but it was mild and disappeared quickly. The only con I can say is that this mattress can not be flipped over. There is a cushion top on 1 side only, so it can be turned, but not flipped. I have noticed this is how many manufactures are making mattress's now. The mattress comes in different sizes and was delivered wrapped in plastic. It does not come vacuum packed/compressed where it needs a day or two to fully expand. This is a high quality mattress, and I highly recommend it for the perfect balance of comfort and support.
