Perfect addition to any vehicle!
I drive a huge lifted Ford Excursion. I was so happy to get this because its virtually into see being me. The Wireless Backup System was super easy to install! Install the camera on the back using the license plate screws, very easy to do! The screen gets installed right on the windshield with a sticky suction cup and a cord that goes right into the power point. Easy to turn on and super easy to use! I now can see everything behind my truck to make sure its all clear! The camera hinges so if you have kids that climb In and out using the bumper you might have to adjust it if they move it. It works perfect in the daytime as well as the dark night! It also shuts off after about a minute so its not drawing power. It has a power button on the plug as well as on the unit itself. Overall this system is super easy to install and super easy to use! I certainly would recommend it to everyone! I didn't find any flaws with it!

I was really looking forward to this wireless back-up camera that solar. I just bought a used Early 2000 HOnda Minivan and thought this would be the perfect fit for back up camera. Especially since my other two vehicles have back up camera, it would be nice upgrade to an older car. However, in the past few weeks I was unable to charge the device, instructions were really unclear and i was not able to ever sync it. IT has been sitting in my car a few days. THe syncing keeps failing and I lose patience. What didn't work: -To charge the camera, you have to take off a difficult cover for the charging port. Its not easily accessible. The only easy thing is about the charging cover is ability to lose the small screw. -The charging and synching connections were really unclear. The device says charge it, but unclear on how many hours. Also unclear on how to sync the both devices. The only messages I can get is the "Pairing" and "Pairing Failed" . I still haven't gotten it to pair. -Being in 2021, the synching and charging process should be alot simpler. Like how bluetooth devices are. What I did like: - Was the magnet piece for the digital screen. The attachment to hold the camera and stickness of the holder to car was solid. -THe screen looks sturdy, could survive a drop and fall. -The screen edges and cover around it was also heavy-duty and look like it can last a few years. I had high hopes for this device but it did not deliver.

    Great for Landscape Trailer reversing / parking
    I got this semi-portable wireless backup camera set for a unique purpose, parking my landscape trailer! I've added neodymium magnets to the mounts so that I can move it around and stick it onto any steel surface.. it works great for my usage, roughly 20 feet from the screen to the camera, takes the guesswork out of backward parking the trailer. As a side job, it also works great watching the water levels when launching and retrieving the boat from the launch ramps. That's about 30 feet from screen to camera. There's actually lots of uses once the camera can be magnetically mounted, and the screen runs perfectly with a USB backup battery too. No need to be near the cig.lighter for power supply with the portable USB battery. I kinda wish it had better depth and clarity, but it's still very much worth having. Recommended for the purposes I've tested! Cheers!

    This is an awesome kit if you are driving a truck or an RV. Gives you a full picture of what's happening behind without performing any major installations. In fact, it was pretty easy to install. Make sure you charged it well before you mounted it, otherwise you will end up waiting for it to soak up enough solar rays. Now to the pluses: it is easy to install, easy to mount and pair. Picture is clear and colorful, there is no delay or glitches. The camera set is adjustable, so you can put it anywhere and then adjust easily.

    Great for Cars without a factory installed rear vi
    This is a good product if you don't have a rear view camera on your car. It's easy to install and works very well. The camera itself mounts to your license plate screws. Its solar powered so once you fully charge it when you get it the solar should keep it charged no problem. I've had no problem with the charge on mine. The viewing screen needs to have constant power to it. It comes with a power adaptor with 2 USB outlets for the cigar lighter in your car. Once you turn it on it connects to the camera and displays the rear view. It only takes a couple of seconds for it to come on. The camera has a good wide view so you can see everything behind you. The hardest part is where to mount the viewing screen. They give you a suction mount for your dash board but these don't work well on most dashboards as they need a flat surface to attach to and dashboards are usually textured. But if there's a place on your dash that's flat and smooth this would work fine. I have only one such place on my dash and it taken up with the phone mount so I used double sided tape to mount it to a part of the dash that was available. The viewing screen has several options to set, brightness, contrast, mirror image or not, and auto time off so that the viewing screen turns off after a set amount of time, 30, 60 or 90 seconds. The auto time off on the one I received doesn't work, at all so I have to manually turn it off, just like you have to manually turn it on. Not a big deal but it would be nice if the viewing screen turn itself off. I think this is a good product. It's not as good as the ones installed in cars from the factory. If you adjust the camera properly it will make backing out of tight spaces easier because you can see how close you're getting to the cars behind you.

    Easy install and set up
    I wanted to give a review on this Scosche Wireless Solar Powered Backup Camera Kit. First of all, it is very easy to install this setup. All you have to do is bolt on the solar lens to your license plate and you're pretty much done (the hardware is even included). There is no wiring that you have to run from the solar lens to the display that mounts on your dash. The only tools required are a small socket-type screwdriver and a wrench. FYI: The box stated just a screwdriver, so they must have changed to a different hardware packet. It comes with screws, washers, and nuts. It also comes with two car charger cables. One is long at around 57” and the other cable is much shorter at only about 12”. So you have your choice on which length to use. It also comes with a charger plug and the plug has two USB ports. The one thing that I didn't like was the box shows no charging cable running from the monitor to the car charger. So the box photos make it look wireless. If you have OCD about wires hanging from your dash, keep this in mind, the monitor is 4.3” 480p resolution screen and it has a 2.4 GHz digital wireless receiver. The monitor also comes with a suction cup magnetic mount. I like the magnetic mount a lot as you can rotate the screen in any direction you choose. This kit seems very well made as well.

    Love this!
    The backup camera is an excellent buy. Build and quality are fantastic even down to the USB plugs being snug in the screen. The camera's initial charge took 5 hours but after that the battery has stayed fully charged with consistent nightly use. After calibrating, using the garage as reference, lines and angles of the camera match up exceedingly well. The resolution of the screen allows great visual, both day and night. During the day, the screen brightness only needs to be at a 2:00 or 3:00, and at night with brightness all the way down it's perfect. The night vision is amazing. Every suction cup mount needs to have whatever sticky gel they use. Only thing that I would like to be different, is a quick disconnect for moving it from the back of the vehicle to the back of the trailer, but I can see why they wouldn't for security reasons. With that said, the camera is still quite visible in the back. I hope it won't get stolen.

    I posted 2 pictures. One is the end of our driveway. We live on a boulevard with south traffic heading in front of our house, there's a median in the middle and a turn-around directly in front of the house. At the very end of our driveway is a telephone pole - inches from the edge. Although we warn everyone who comes over, my step daughter did hit it (with a rental car - UGH!). My car is 2013 and doesn't have a backup camera. Backing out of the garage, down the driveway, using the mirrors, your eyes have to dart back and forth because the houses are pretty close, but you always look to your right for cars coming - the pole is on the left, where traffic is on the other side of the median. Also, more than once, a car using the turnaround has startled me. With this new Scosche SOLAR POWERED camera, all that goes away. It's like I backed up into the driveway (which I never do). I can see everything clear as day without the help of the mirrors! It amazed me the first time I tried it! Then, when your done, you just slip it aside and put it on the seat. I don't have it on my dash because I'm short and it blocks my view, but it just rests where I keep my cell phone anyway, so it's just perfect. I have no idea how it worked from the start because my car was in the garage, but it did! Also, I actually may be able to parallel park now! I'll find out when I can get my hair cut again...I love it!

    Really cool. Seems to work well even on cloudy days. Picture is decent. Mounting was a little difficult but no wires needed. Comes with everything you need except a screw driver. Easily mounted on windshield. Comes with an in home charger and car charger for viewing monitor. Be sure to charge it first. Solar powered camera. I would recommend.

    Super Easy Installation
    I received this product to evaluation for free, but my opinions and comments are my own. The product came in extremely well packed. There should not be any shipping issue. Instruction manual for the item could be better. Per instruction, I charged the camera unit fully before taking the next step. All you have to do is attach the camera unit to your rear licence's plate. I did have to flip the camera unit upside down to avoid the overhang on my license plate so it would receive direct sunlight. Plug the monitor in. Wowla, you got the rear view image. Image quality is not the highest, but good enough and is without any interference. I didn't mount the monitor bracket to my windshield or dashboard. I didn't want it there permanently since I don't use this car much (want the ability to put it back in the glove box afterward). The perfect solution would be for the camera unit to connect to your phone. But installation is so easy that this would meet someone's need terrifically. Recommended.
