Super Light Weight Helmet
I really like this helmet. It's super light weight, has a fantastic orange color, and looks super sleek and modern. The clips secure the helmet firmly in place and feels super sturdy. Do keep in mind that this is a helmet for youth / kids, so it definitely doesn't fit a normal adult's head. The cords are adjustable to fit around the face / ears snugly, and there's a nice extension that supports the back of the head as well. Comparing this helmet to the helmets I had as a child, and this is a much more modern and sleek protective covering for my kids. :-)

Love it, wish it fit
This is a pretty awesome helmet. Unfortunately my 6/7 year olds head is too wide. This seems to be more for a 3 to 5 year old. The knob in the back makes the tightening of the helmet soo much easier.

    Sizing runs small
    The Scout-1 Youth helmet runs small for a child's helmet. I love the matte look of this helmet, it looks sleek and very similar to adult helmets. The padding inside is soft and adjustable. There is a knob for adjusting the circumference and fit for your child. This item comes in a variety of colors which all look great. The orange one that we have is a particularly nice shade, not obnoxiously bright, but very visible even in lower light situations. I really want to love this item, but it just runs really small. I wanted to use the XS size on my preschooler, but it was way too tiny for his head. The helmet would be a good fit for an infant. Unless you bike every day with your infant, I don't know if you can really get too much good use out of it before your child outgrows it. I'm weary of getting the size S if the sizing for the item seems to be so off. I wouldn't want to purchase and have to deal with returning. The information on the website says 1-10yrs, but I'm pretty certain the small would not fit a 10 year old.

    My daughter enjoys wearing this helmet
    I have a daughter who loves to be outside riding her bike and scooter so this Scout-1 Youth Bike & Skate Helmet is really a necessity for her to wear. It is lightweight but also strong. She easily straps it on and secures it to suit her head. I am glad she enjoys wearing it because you never know when a fall can occur and protecting her head is a must.

    Good quality and features
    This child's bike and skate helmet is a good quality item that has some nice features. Among the bike helmets I have seen/used over the years, this one definitely seems to be of an overall better quality and has a very nice look. The first thing you will notice is the modern looking matte (non-shiny) finish on the outer shell. The one I received was a matte orange color and looks very nice. This type of finish also helps to hide scrapes and scratches on the surface and keeps the helmet from reflecting sunlight out to other riding partners, etc. The actual helmet shell (all the material inside of the outer shell) is constructed of a nice durable hard styrofoam type material (as most helmets are) and seems like it would absorb a hit as it should. The helmet also includes an extra inner strip of foam padding on the top to add comfort to the top of the head and also make for a better, more snug fit. However, this strip appears just to be glued in and not secured very well (they call this “easily detachable for cleaning”). The helmet as a whole has plenty of openings all the way through to provide ventilation to the head for cooling and comfort. The straps appear to be made from nice material and the pieces that the straps fit through and secure to seem to be of good quality. The best feature in my opinion is the turn knob that allows you to easily adjust the tightness of the straps and fit easily and quickly. There is also a short “visor” molded into the front of the helmet. This helmet seems to be better than average in quality and features.

    This helmet is light weight but seems well made and its attractive. It has nice straps and fits securely. It seems to fit comfortable and not cause any issues. Be sure to try it on and adjust the straps to get the perfect fit.

    Great children's helmet
    I received Scout-1 Youth Bike & Skate Helmet and it is a perfect fit for my youngest son. He loves the burnt orange color and how cool it makes him look. I like that you can adjust it to the perfect fit, which means better coverage for safety. It is very lightweight, comfortable, and very well ventilated. I appreciate the built-in visor to shade his eyes from the bright sun. This is a very great children's helmet to keep them safe. I am very pleased with it and I definitely recommend.

    Great helmet for mid sized heads (kids!)
    Our little boy has a pretty large head for a 2.5 year old. He typically can't fit hats for his age group, instead wearing adult hats that are just a smidge too large. Anyhow I was skeptical about this helmet because it didn't look big enough. We have the size Small. However once I pulled it out and made adjustments, it fit like a charm and he was a super happy boy! The helmet is a burnt orange matte color, so definitely unisex. It has a low profile and is not overly bulky. There is interior padding and front adjustment straps along with a rear dial to tighten the sides. Nice venting for air flow. Lightweight.

    The helmet is low profile and not bulky. It is burnt orange and matte, not shiny. There are adjustable straps, interior padding, holes for air flow, and a dial at the rear to tighten. Stylish without being too loud.
