    Pioneer DEH-S5010-BT sterio system
    I recently installed the Pioneer DEH-S5010BT into the dash of my 1998 Ford Ranger 4x4, regular cab, 4ltr v6, AC. I bought the 2 kits that were recommended for the installation. The wiring kit, and the mounting kit. You get lots of extra unneeded plastic in the installation kit. The only things in the kit that I used were the side plates and the small tray. The side plates had to be cut off (shortened at the score line) and all the tangs had to be cut off flush. In addition, I had to cut the upper and lower lips from the original Ranger dash to allow enough room for the side plates to be pressed onto the side lips of the stock dash assembly. The installation took a few hours but I took my time and soldered and shrink wrapped all electrical connections. The DEH-S5010BT sounds and looks great. I really like plugging in the memory stick and having all my 4046 tunes available. I don't have an iPhone so I am not using the paring capabilities. That may come at a later date. The system sounds very good, connected to the stock Ford speakers. The system has very simple set up controls and is easy to use. Great replacement for the standard Ford system. Now I don't carry a bunch of CD's in the counsel, just a memory stick. My stock system had the 4 holes (2 DIN) holding it into the dash. I used the handle end of jeweler files to insert into the holes to release the original unit. It came out very easy.

    Far Surpassed My Expectations
    I could not be any happier with this Pioneer system. I installed with almost zero difficulties. I paired it with a pair of Memphis 6” coaxle speakers and the sound was pure enjoyment. The hands free blue tooth phone compatibility was simple and sounds great. I installed this unit in a 96 Bronco. The deck fit like a glove and the wire harness kit was spot on. I would recommend this unit. At $99 I feel it is a steel of a deal.
