Tastes great
This is a great shortening. It smells wonderful and tastes great. It works in any recipe calling for shortening and just adds a wonderful tastes and smell too. Even if you lick it off your fingers it still tastes good. This is a great combination of palm oil and coconut oil. It can be tricking if you are just using coconut oil, but this is great. I hope they make it in a bigger container, because you will definitely go through this fast.

OK we like this product, it is composed of healthier oils, and works just as well as Crisco. Even for pie crusts. BUT, weird thing -- this last order was fulfilled by Amazon. That is bad. They will sell you actual trash. This should be looked into.

    I will buy this again.
    Pie crust making is a tradition in our family, so I'm a stickler for quality. Crisco was what mom used, but I was looking for a little healthier alternative that didn't compromise on taste or flakiness. I'm very happy with this product and will recommend to my family pie makers. (I did add a little butter!) P.S. It matters to me that the palm oil is from a sustainable source.

    This organic shortening has a blend of red palm and coconut oil. This shortening is very good for making pie crust, they come out a light golden brown color, makes the crust nice and flaky. This organic shortening has less cholesterol than butter. I like the fact that this is a rich smooth creamy shortening that doesn't seem to be like other shortening. It also seems to have a sweeter type taste to my pie crust and pastries. This organic shortening is made from no habitat is harmed certified farms with natural habitats environmental efforts done right which a portion of sales goes to sustainable agriculture, which in turn providing a much healthier way to enjoy organic foods. This being organic, in my opinion is a better option than the other shortenings out there.

    I was kinda on the fence about this not going to lie I'm so used to using butter or veggie oil that thought my food would taste bad or different nope not at all it's so good and in my opinion taste so much better.. My eggs taste so light and fluffy with a nice after taste I loved it A plus they didn't stick while cooking with this.. it's much healthier too it's a win win when using this I highly recommend this if you cook a lot I'm excited about trying it in my next cake I bake..

    Great in Bread
    I was thrilled about trying this because of all of the health claims and benefits. I've used this to sauté vegetables, and I've used to this make a loaf of bread. Both methods have been successful. The shortening is golden yellow in color very similar to butter. There is no taste or smell to it straight from the jar. When using it to sauté vegetables, there is a faint coconut oil aroma that is pleasing to the nose. I typically make my bread with butter or lard, but I replaced it with this shortening. The loaf came out great...no noticeable difference. I love that this product is organic, non GMO, and it's Fair Trade certified. No trans fats. It's a few more calories per serving than butter, but it's not something that I'll use too much of too often so that doesn't concern me. Overall, great product.

    This is perfect for my baking needs, especially now that this whole “new year, new me” thing where we are all trying to lose weight and stay healthy. The palm shortening is a great alternative to other shortenings with unnecessary fat and other additives. This keeps well in the pantry, which is a bonus as well. It works for frying as well, making normally not so great for you foods, better! You cannot beat the quality and brand, I would highly recommend. The price is not bad for a quality product as well, and as stated it will keep for a while.

    Works Great!
    So this shortening is awesome! I am always looking for healthy alternatives for my family. We do not do well with dairy and so this is perfect for baking! I used it to make cookies and they were very flavorful and the texture was spot on. The shortening looks like butter and even smells good from the container. I remember my grandmother using regular shortening that always smelled weird. So, I have used almost never in my cooking. Well, until now. I went on the company's website to get more information on the product and there are some amazing gluten-free and vegan recipes that I will be making. This is a great product and one I will use in the future for sure!
