Great sound, perfect for pool parties
The size, sound quality, and volume range are all amazing, just as I've come to expect from JBL products. That said, the details make the difference, so I've listed my top 5 favorite features below. 1) The IPX7 waterproof rating is awesome. IPX7 means the speaker is fully waterproof even if submerged in up to 3 feet of water. I got over my initial fear of testing it out and actually dunked this guy in a pool with no issues. Great for shower jamz and pool parties. 2) Battery life is amazing. I've been casually using this thing an hour or two every other day for a few weeks now and still haven't to recharge. The battery indicator lights under the power button are a nice touch too. 3) The Bluetooth connects quickly and easily. I also love that I can connect two devices to the speaker at once since I play music from both my phone and iPad pretty frequently. Other wireless speakers I've had in the past have required me to re-pair every time I switched devices, which was a pain. 4) The bass radiators are actually pretty dope. It's cool to see the bass in action, and it's not a feature I've seen in many other portable speakers. 5) The USB charging cable that comes with the speaker is pleasantly long. This may seem minor/dumb, but like I said, the details make the difference. Unfortunately I wasn't able to test the JBL Connect feature since these are the only Connect-compatible speakers I have (I also own a JBL Clip 2, but that's unfortunately not compatible - photo below for size comparison though). This was a bummer because the feature sounds like something I would totally take advantage of. I also haven't tested the built-in speakerphone, but that's one I probably won't use too often. Overall, I highly recommend this speaker. In fact, it might have just become my new gold standard for portable music players. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    It's amazing!
    Best portable speaker I've ever used & I'm picky. The sound quality is fire! it's an extremely loud speaker that would be great for a small party or a group of friends, or just one person! Mine is dirty but wow I love this thing so much. thank you jbl for making such amazing quality speakers for a great price! I've had mine for almost a year and it is still the same great quality as the day i got it.

    I have this for i think more than two years , since it was launched , my dad was searching for a quality bluetooth speaker , we never own a JBL product , the flip 4 is my first proper bluetooth speaker , and i love it

    Phenomenal Sound!
    As an audiophile, I own an embarrassing amount of speakers and audio gear, but I absolutely love my Flip 4. The sound quality is clean even if your outside around busy surroundings. The volume range is great as well, I can hear it across the House even in slow setting.

    Second To None!
    I have had my share of portable Bluetooth speakers over the last 10 years or so. Yeah, since 2007! So when I tried the JBL FLIP 4 I honestly did not expect too much over the other premium speakers I own. I was wrong. I have another cylinder 360 shape speaker by another manufacturer that cost TWICE the price. Same features, to a degree, but shaped and marketed the same way. Not even close! The JBL FLIP 4, yes the 4th edition just plain rocks! Hip hop, Dubstep, Rock, and chill wave all sound delicious. Mind blowing clarity, ear splitting loudness, quality materials and workmanship. There's a couple more thing I want to point out in this review that should be noted. This speaker can link up to 100, yes 100, other Flips with the FREE JBL APP. You can essentially place speakers all around the house, or pool, party and play in perfect harmony, multiple channel stereo. It is also IPX7 waterproof meaning this FLIP 4 can go for a dunk and NOT be damaged while continuing to work. You can even hose off any dirt while listening to it. It all comes down to this. You are getting more than what you are paying for here. This could sell for double the price and still be a great value. I love watching the little subwoofers moving in and out to the beats! See, hear and feel the difference with the JBL FLIP 4 and you will agree with this review. Get more than you pay for. Just awesome! I love it so much I sold another brand I had to my friend. Lastly, I recommend a case for it too. Got a great hard sided for it that holds the device and charging cable w/adapter. So there you have it...On a scale of 1-10, I am rating this a solid 10! Enjoy!     Very good product!!!! I'm recommended this speaker
    I just got JBL Flip 4 it very powerful stereo sound,it is compact speaker and Li-ion battery is incredible for 12 hours, I alway keep with me every where I go, easy to carry in bag or luggage, normally I like to listen music talk on the phone when I'm busy in kitchen or wet hand in garden or swimming, It work good you not gonna carry phone all the time just speaker, JBL Connect+ technology that can wirelessly links more than 100 JBL Connect+ enabled speakers together to amplify the listening experience but I have only 2 right now, One of my family said can I exchange from his old speakers(Bose) with my JBL Flip4 Or my JBL Flip3, I said.... No!, His speaker is sound not stereo and battery is not longer and difficult to pair it, by the way I love JBL product very much,Since I remember I have JBL many years, I can tell you should have it. P.S. I also have charge2and3 and My ear buds, But my ears buds don't work anymore "( sad I will get new one soon.     Compact Bluetooth Speaker Perfected!
    James B Lansing would be proud. From the minute I opened the package, I knew this was a quality product. What I didn't expect is such incredible sound from this small speaker. It sounds fantastic in both vertical and horizontal positions, and holds a charge freakishly well. Charging is easy with the high quality cable included and the visual LED meter lets you know your battery strength. Turn on-off and bluetooth pairing sound FX, very cool! Fit and finish, quality of construction all better than expected in this price range, and the control buttons, which almost seem to be pushing through the water proof grill cloth, work well and feel expensive. Pairing is quick and easy and I noticed that even though I wandered away from the speaker with my phone and moved around the house, it stayed connected and played without breaking up. The ability to pair more JBL connect+ devices is a great feature and worked nicely. JBL also included an aux jack under the waterproof cover where you charge the speaker - they didn't forget anything when they designed this speaker, but the best feature by far is the amazing SOUND QUALITY! Yes, there are still some of out there who love great sound! I love and truly appreciate the incredible dynamic range this little speaker produces. Both side bass baffles seemed a little gimmicky at first, but do their job very well as this little speaker produces lower frequency response than I though possible. In the Kitchen, it fills the whole room with quality sound regardless or the volume or type of music I'm listening to. In the shower (yes waterproof means waterproof) the tile acoustics allow this little gem to really shine with sound quality so dramatic, you'll want to shower till the hot's gone.     Excellent BT Speaker.
    Good improvement especially in bass in the new Flip. Seems like it takes less time to sync up when 2 are connected. I also Like the small aesthetic changes to differentiate it from the Flip 3. Not to much needed to change there. It's just better than the competition especially at it's price.
