Satisfied!!
This laptop is a nice change from a desktop or older laptop. I was amazed to find how little it weighs! All the specifications are listed, so I am not going to bore anyone by writing about them. I know the weight is listed, but was still surprised how light the laptop is. All anyone needs to do is remove it from the box an get right on it. It is as simple as that. I think every computer model has a learning curve, because new products are always different from what one is used to. However, PCs are generally similar so it does not take long to figure out what is new. If you are used to a Mac you will find it takes a bit longer to adjust to a PC, but it is easily done, and you will be able to easily learn everything you need to know. This laptop capable of handling different applications and switching between them. The battery life is fantastic, but like every computer, dependent on what you are doing. If you play a lot of music while working the battery length will decrease. If you have only email or a document open the battery will last a long time. I cannot foresee the battery ever running out quickly though. For most people it will probably last 2-3 days. In summary, this is recommended.

Fast and responsive
This review is for HP 15.6 model: EG0050WM PROS: very fast running laptop touchscreen very responsive The laptop for it's weight is surprisingly easy to handle and not a burden to the lap. displaying Windows "windows" is so much easier and fun with the touchscreen and trackpad set-up is easy trackpad is very responsive turning "on" the laptop and "restarts" happen fast connecting bluetooth earbuds and headphones seamless music and youtube sounded good through either earbud sets I connected I downloaded 4.3 gb's of music from my phone to the laptop in 5 minutes (fast) CONS: Camera is 720p-it's grainy-for such a good laptop-- 720p is a cheap addition the keyboard is offset left of center-you must shift to the left to type-(a real irritation) The F key row is "small" which includes the "delete" key--irritating for sure (doable but irritating) PRELOADED APPS: I found all the preloaded apps from HP very useful except one. The HP Smart app wouldn't work with my HP printer properly. It printed in "huge" print. I had to uninstall it and let Windows print and that went just fine. "Your phone" app worked beautifully...was very impressed The HP B&O audio control app lets you control more bass and other things for your earbuds.. FINAL IMPRESSION: This laptop is a fast running machine and it's easy to use most all functions. I would recommend it to a friend with the reservation about the keyboard and camera. The offset keyboard is "almost" a deal breaker for me because I've been a typist all my life. I constantly have to look for the placement of my fingers unto the "home" row even though the home row has the raised tabs. I deducted 2 stars just for the keyboard layout and placement. Would those drawbacks keep me from recommending someone to buy this laptop? Not if the price was right. :))

This is an excellent starter P.C. for my 11 year old daughters, the beautiful rose gold finish is stylish enough for any preteen looking to make a splash with local study groups. Fast processor for not only social media multitasking but live streams as well. Beautifully designed with performance in mind.

High quality & Easy Set Up!!!
This HP laptop is incredible!! The HP Pavilion Lunar Gold Laptop worked perfectly for my son's online schooling. Cortana walked me through the set up in about 10min. It was so easy!! The HP Pavilion has so many options to customize my laptop to my needs and wants. It is i5 processor, 8gb system memory, and has 15.6 full HD touch screen. The appearance is so sleek and professional looking. It's not heavy and can easily fit into my tote bag when I travel. I love how clear the audio sounds and the display is so vibrant and high definition. Everything looks so clear. I also really like that the battery last a long time without having to be charged. Overall this laptop is super high quality and exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend.

❤ Stellar Build Quality Performance & Touchscreen
The HP Pavilion Laptop 15-eg0050wm is near-perfect mid-price notebook, with stellar performance and luxury features aplenty. But before we get into the review, I'd like to give HP some advice: fix your nomenclature! HP's lineup this year includes several lookalike Pavilion laptops with similar-sounding names and prices that vary only slightly. The features, however, vary a lot. For example, Model 15-eg0050wm (this one) has a big, beautiful full-HD multi-touchscreen whereas lookalike Model 15-cs3055wm has no touch capacity whatsoever. Other models lack backlit keyboards, etc. Avoid disappointment: if you've read the reviews and settled on a particular model, for goodness sake, write the model number down and be sure it's the one in your shopping cart. Personally, I suggest going with 15-eg0050wm: PLUSES: ❤ Bright, Vibrant Screen. When you unbox this laptop, you may look at the screen and say "meh," because HP's default graphics settings are more natural and less intense than the defaults used by some other manufacturers. The default displays of Samsung tablets, for example, are so saturated colors appear hallucinogenic, so if that's what you're used to, your HP screen may strike you as pallid. Not a bit! Just fire up the Intel Graphics Command Center pre-loaded on your system and you can manually adjust color intensity, hue and saturation of still images and videos, live previewing your changes. In seconds, my screen colors popped to my complete satisfaction. ❤ Fleet, flawless multi-touch capability (identifies all ten of your fingertips separately). I adore my mobile, Android apps and this feature enables me to emulate them on PC if I feel like it. ❤ 16:9 aspect ratio. This used to be the normal PC screen ratio, but narrow screens are in vogue these days and so much the pity if, like me, you frequent text-heavy websites and enjoy reading long articles. Old school 16:9 is much better for readers. ❤ Super-responsive, whisper-quiet backlit keyboard that is a joy to use and doesn't click or flex. Touchpad is oversized and there is a dedicated number pad. NOTE: The gray keyboard numbers and symbols do not contrast anywhere near highly enough against the warm silver for hunt & peck typists or the visually impaired but more about that in the Minuses section. ❤ Sufficiently loud speakers for a laptop. Sound doesn't distort at max volume. HP makes a point of letting you know they're made by Bang & Olufsen, but don't set your expectations too high -- these are still only laptop speakers and the sound is thin. Still, it isn't tinny, and that's saying something these days. (I preferred HPs pre-2015 speakers made by Beats). ❤ Very lightweight -- 1.75kg (3.85809 lbs). AC adapter is also light and compact. ❤ Build-quality feels super-solid. I'd been concerned HP's ballyhooed micro-edges (thin bezels) might make the laptop flimsy as I'm accustomed to work-issued HP Elitebooks built like tanks, but the unit is plenty sturdy and requires no special handling. ❤ Terrific strong Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 signals: it sees many networks and devices that my other pcs, tablets, phones and smart appliances aren't detecting. Screencasting to my Chromecast and Fire TV dongles is working flawlessly. ❤ The Windows 10 Operating System is a very clean install with almost no junkware added. The only exceptions are Netflix and the security provider McAfee (I uninstalled both). ❤ Battery: Lasts 8 hours. Charges pretty fast. I play no video games and I am getting the promised 8 hours (I would gmore if I didn't set my screen to maximum brightness). ❤ Case color: I was happy to unbox and find that the Lunar Gold case is a warm silver, not gold. Who would want a gold-colored laptop? ❤ 512 Gig solid state drive. Fast and silent. ❤ 8 Gigs of Ram: more than adequate for my programming and entertainment. ❤ Cool and quiet: I was a mite concerned, having read reviews about some related Pavilion models claiming the fan ran constantly. Oddly, the fan did fire up and run at first but only during the initial hours of setup. After the first full charge was completed (and I had uninstalled all of the McAfee software), the fan rarely ever goes on and it's running cooler than average for a laptop: between 96 and 104 Fahrenheit. MINUSES: ☹ The main drawback of this Pavilion line is that the product designer responsible for the keyboard sacrificed function for the sake of form in selecting a font color and style that is only barely visible if you are using the laptop in a well-lit room. Honestly, I really resent this new breed of product and software designers that give no thought at all to those who are lesser abled or visually impaired. Many, many reviewers have mentioned their difficulties in reading the keyboard. HP could make lemonade from lemons and produce a silicone keyboard overlay with high contrast characters and symbols on it, pricing it very reasonably and marketing it directly to everyone who purchased the product. I am a very fast touch typist so this poor visibility doesn't prevent my enjoyment of this product --however even controls as simple as the power key (hidden in the function row) require a few seconds hunt. I plan to buy some tiny nail stickers for manicures to affix to the case above the Power and Delete keys and add a tiny silicone bump to the "A" and the "J" so I can position my hands without looking. ☹ Ports: It doesn't have a standard ethernet port. This is scarcely a negative, because you can still use a USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter to achieve a hardwired cable connection, and most folks don't use ethernet on notebooks, but still some might miss that port. Here are the ports it does have, according to HP's website: "This model has a 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge); 2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate; 1 HDMI 2.0; 1 AC smart pin; 1 headphone/microphone combo". There is also a built-in smart card reader. ☹ No paper manual: This isn't a hardship for people like me who look stuff up online but I don't think manufacturers have any idea how much some older consumers miss big, fat hard-copy manuals with step by step instructions. I have relatives who would love a new computer or phone but refuse to upgrade, fearing the learning curve without a manual. ☹ This may be the fault of McAfee, not HP, but I specifically declined the offer of a software trial and yet not only was said software installed but I found myself on their mailing list. Bad McAfee! Nevertheless, it was simple to remove all traces of the product, which can't always be said for security software. CONCLUSION: All in all, this is the by far the nicest non-employer issued laptop I have ever had to date. In an age of declining manufacturing standards and poor quality control, HP is still generally reliable and the Pavilion line is reasonably priced. I love it! Just be sure to identify the appropriate model that has all the features you want and buy accordingly. The difference in price from one Pavilion model to the next is that significant and you may regret the features you forfeit more than any savings you gain.

There is a LOT to love about this laptop!
Over the past thirty years, whenever I have purchased Windows-based PCs or laptops, I have always chosen HP products. Never once have I been disappointed... especially now with this HP Pavilion 15.6 i7 8/5 12+32 Lunar Gold Laptop! Following are the Pros & Cons I found with this laptop... Pros: -- Sleek, slender design with an elegant color and styling -- Extremely lightweight -- Powers up super fast & connects to web pages even faster -- With a 512 GB SSD drive, I can't imagine ever even coming close to overloading it with data... plus the advanced technology that the SSD drive brings really boosts loading and booting times -- It has a touchscreen! I really appreciate the versatility that having this option brings. You can use the touchscreen or the keyboard and mouse. Sometimes being able to utilize the touchscreen helps projects go so much faster -- Comes with a full 8 GB of Memory & a 60Hz refresh rate -- It has Microsoft Paint preloaded... This may sound silly to a lot of people and probably not a typical thing that most people look for when purchasing a new laptop, but (for me) there was a time when Paint was the only design software available to graphic artists. I am now retired, but I had not seen or used Paint in over 30 years, so it was really fun and nostalgic for me -- I kept it powered up and played around with it for ten hours straight without the battery completely losing its charge -- The battery charged to full incredibly fast when I charged it after first opening the packaging -- I have two other laptops and an iPhone and none of the three power up, connect to the Internet, or load pages nearly as fast as this HP Pavilion 15.6. I also no longer have pages freeze or suffer annoying extra buffering times/signal losses -- It has a slot for an SD card (I had been utilizing a converter on my previous laptop) -- The Intel Core i7 provides cooler running technology for less heat and less noise, offers a cache size of 8 MB (increasing instruction execution speed), and gives the laptop a processor speed that is very fast due to a combination of turbo boost and hyper threading technologies. This laptop PC did not get nearly as hot as my other laptops do under heavy use -- With Windows 10 we see the return of the Start Menu (and with a new look)! YAY! Plus, Windows 10 offers more user control in that switching applications on and off is greatly simplified and we now have the ability to choose which programs startup automatically when the laptop is powered on -- The Desktop is neatly organized & streamlined... and offers easy access to news, weather, streaming services, music, and online shopping -- The 15.6" display is large enough and clear enough for the most weary of eyes -- It has an elevated keyboard which makes entering data so much more comfortable -- It has connections for: - HDMI 1.4b - RJ-45 - USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A - USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C - Headphone/Microphone Combo - HP Fast Charge - Media Reader -- Has the Wifi 6 & Bluetooth 5 Combo -- Comes equipped with an HP Wide Vision HD Camera (88-degree, wide-angle field of view) -- Offers an easy method of syncing all of your devices -- The keyboard light readily activates at all of the appropriate and needed times Cons: -- There is no Optical Drive (no DVD, CD, or Blu-ray drive) -- I am not at all familiar with the Microsoft Edge Browser, but my initial impression is that it leaves me with some privacy concerns... although the settings in Microsoft Edge do allow me the ability to control a good bit of what is and isn't shared or stored -- It seems like the majority of the software and/or applications pre-installed on this laptop require a purchase after a short free-trial period. This is something I am not at all used to with HP computer systems (Microsoft Office is installed, but you have to purchase it to use it for any length of time) -- The popup ads that appear on startup are annoying and I feel like a lot of the system components are setup to try to get me to buy software and/or applications whose developers are partners with Microsoft... and, for which Microsoft likely receives profits over and above the purchase price of the laptop itself -- You will receive emails trying to get you to purchase various products and services for your HP Pavilion 15.6... some repeatedly -- I have primarily utilized a Mac over the past decade so I had forgotten that you must purchase virus protection for Windows-based operating systems and this is an expense that I was not anticipating -- I did not want to setup a Microsoft Outlook account, but you have no choice as you are unable to complete setup without doing so (I already had a sufficient number of email accounts), and while you can utilize an existing email to setup your Outlook account, this just added to my anxiety over privacy concerns -- A lot of personal information was required to setup the laptop and, while my privacy concerns may be completely unfounded, only time will tell if too much information was given... It's hard because Microsoft is not clear about what user data they collect and/or how it is utilized. I regret that I do not have the personal skill-set to disable the tools that track computer behavior in an "advanced" installation. -- The Windows Media Center is no longer available with Windows 10 Overall, I am VERY happy with the HP PAVILION 15.6 i7 8/512+32 LAPTOP-LUNAR GOLD and am extremely pleased to own one. I LOVE the sleek & elegant design and warp-speed services. Like I said, my privacy concerns may turn out to be completely unfounded. I just need to give it time and see how things go... and start to feel more comfortable with this system. In summary, there are WAY more advantages than disadvantages to owning and utilizing this particular HP Laptop PC! I do highly recommend this product.

    Great Laptop
The HP Pavilion 15 Laptop PC is super thin and light but still feels sturdy. Out of the box setup is super simple. You only have to answer a few questions and it's ready to use in only a few minutes. It boots up pretty quick thanks to the speedy half terabyte SSD drive. The full HD screen is really bright and is plenty big enough. The keyboard has a nice feel. The 8gb memory is more than enough for normal day to day tasks. The mouse pad does not have separate buttons for right and left click and that took a little getting used to, but once you get used to it, it's second nature. Of course, it has WIFI that was really easy to get connected on my home router and the addition of Bluetooth is a plus. The computer itself seems pretty responsive, most likely due to the combination of the SSD drive, 32gb optane memory and the i5 cpu. The built-in speakers are pretty decent for a laptop. Battery life seems great so far. I've never used it more than a few hours at a time away from an AC plug, so I've never drained the battery. Overall, it's a really nice mid-level laptop that I would recommend to anyone.

Professional looking and fast with 512 SSD
Review of the HP Pavilion 15-cs3055wm laptop: For a mid priced laptop, it boots up extremely fast with it's SSD (Solid State Drive), has a vibrant, bright screen, looks professional, has good quality speakers and overall performs very well for every day use. They say the color is Gold, but it is more of a platinum color (silver with very slight gold tint). The top cover feels like real metal with a sandblasted finish with chrome HP logo which gives it a higher end, professional feel. On the right side are 2 standard USB ports, a SD memory card slot and the power jack with a small charge indicator light. On the left is an HDMI port, RJ45 network port, USB C port, audio in/out port and a small hard drive use light and network lights. Opening it up, it has a good sized standard keyboard and a numeric pad to the right. Note the keyboard is NOT backlit however it does feel sturdy. Generous sized and responsive trackpad. Speakers are above the keyboard with audio tuning by B&O (Bang and Olufsen) which is a higher end audiophile company. Sound quality is surprisingly good for a laptop. It has a Intel Core i5 processor which is more than fast enough most users. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics which is good for most everyday users, short of serious gamers. 8 GB of memory. One of the best features is the 512 GB SSD Solid State Drive which allows extremely fast boot up speeds: 7 seconds from pressing the power button to the login screen and 4 seconds from login to the desktop. If you are upgrading from a old hard drive unit, you will be blown away by how fast things are with an SSD. Plus an SSD is not affected by dropping since there are no moving parts in it and less prone to crashing. 512 GB of space is going to be more than enough space for most users. The screen is 15.6 inches and glossy, WLED backlit, full HD 1920x1080, bright with great color saturation and detail. Note it is NOT a touch screen. Note there is NO optical (DVD) drive but most modern laptops don't have one. Standard Windows 10 Home 64 operating system. Battery life claims from HP are 7 to 10 hours depending on use which is inline with my experience. Camera is an 88 degree “wide vision” and of good quality for Skype. From unboxing to up and running after most updates on a high speed internet connection took about 15 minutes. 25 GB of free Dropbox storage is included as a promo. Overall, I like this laptop but the one annoying thing about it is the cooling fan is loud- it sounds like a small jet engine spooling up when the processor is under heavy load. Not a deal breaker but it is noticeable. Name brand reputation of HP for building quality computers so it should last a long time. One year hardware warranty from HP and 90 day phone and chat support.

    Very Good Windows Computer
Let's start by being clear that I am not a Windows fan. So I was reluctant to review this computer. That being said, this is a very nice computer. It is light, and very fast. The sound is great The screen is great. It has a lightning fast solid state drive, so it is not slow. The charge lasts a long time, probably long enough that you won't be needing to carry your power supply on normal days. It does not have a touch screen or a DVD drive, so if those are important to you, keep looking. On the other hand, it does have a dedicated numeric key pad. Because of the numeric pad, the touch pad is off center, but that only takes a couple of hours to adjust to. At the price point, it is comparable to Chromebooks and way cheaper than Macs. All-in-all, this is an excellent computer for those who use Windows.

    Beautiful Workhorse!
The 15-CS3075WM is an absolute workhorse. Utilizing the most up to date 10th Generation Intel CORE i7 processor with Iris Plus Graphics, this machine is able to withstand anything I throw at it. I tested it to the max using CAD software that even custom desktops have trouble running, and it loaded several 3D models without issue. I did have to disable the graphic acceleration in order to open a couple of the larger file sizes, but I wouldn't chalk that up to the laptop hardware as I have trouble with those 3D models on any computer I have used. In my line of work, it is imperative that I have several different windows open at once in order to complete my tasks. With this machine, that was not an issue. The 32GB Optane Memory and i7 processor are able to keep up and then some. I enjoy the 512gb SSD, which really makes a difference when firing up the machine from a shutdown. In no time, it is up and running. When it's time to put the work behind me and use the laptop for pleasure, this to me is when you can really appreciate the speed and graphics. The display is magnificent, displaying Netflix in 4K as well as cruising around on the internet at top speed, I cannot honestly say I have had a more sound machine than this HP. The build quality is top notch, and the Lunar Gold color really gives it a professional yet elegant appearance. There is plenty of room to rest your wrists comfortably while typing, and the customize-able touch-pad really allows you to utilize some slick "shortcuts" such as side bar scrolling, zooming, etc... Overall, I am very pleased with the performance, the quality, and appearance of the 15-CS3075WM.
