Small size with great sound!
I received my GPX Home Music System (HC425B) was impressed with the sound that came from this little unit. The set up was very easy to do. You just have to plug the speakers into the main stereo unit. This home music system also comes with a small remote which is nice for turning the unit on and off, changing the volume, and switching between using the unit as a radio or CD player. You can also use the remote for playing the CD player, fast forwarding the song choice or repeating a song you want to hear again. There is also a mute button on the remote controller. The battery for the remote controller is included with the system which is always nice. This music system is not compatible with MP3 CD's. You can even program your favorite radio stations on this unit. This unit also has a clock on it and you can set an alarm for the clock. It has a sleep timer so you can listen to music at bed time and set it so it goes off at a specific time. Overall I really do like this GPX Home Music System and can't wait for summer to have it on my porch. It is lightweight and can be easily moved from one location to another. I would recommend this system.

FIRST OFF I WAS DISSAPOINTED ABOUT HOW SMALL THE GPX HC425B Home Music System IS. IT COMES WITH TWO SPEAKERS, EACH AT 10.5 INCHES TALL, 5.5 INCHES WIDE, 3 INCHES DEEP. ONE RECEIVER AT 9.5 INCHES TALL, 6 INCHES WIDE AND 7 INCHES DEEP. VERY SMALL AND COMPACT. I FEEL IT IS VERY CHEAPLY MADE AND WILL BREAK EASILY. THE REMOTE IS EXTRA SMALL AND WILL BE LOST IN NO TIME. THE GPX HC425B Home Music System IS A BASIC SYSTEM. AM AND FM RADIO, AN AUXILLERY JACK AND A SINGLE DVD PLAYER. NO ANTANNA AT ALL YOU CAN NOT ADD ANY OTHER ACCESSORIES TO THIS MUSIC SYSTEM. THE SPEAKERS JUST PLUG RIGHT IN AND THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE EASY TO FOLLOW AND IT IS SIMPLE TO SET THE CLOCK, TIMERS AND PRESET STATIONS. FIRST OFF I LIVE IN A REMOTE AREA AND I COULD NOT PICK UP ONE SINGLE STATION IN AM OR FM WITHOUT EXTREME STATIC. MY CLOCK/ALARM RADIO WORKS SO MUCH BETTER WITH A SINGLE WIRE ANTANNA. NOW BOTH THE CD PLAYER AND AUXILLERY WORK JUST FINE. THEY ARE BOTH NICE AND CLEAR. I WAS NOT VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE SOUND OF THE SPEAKERS, A SMALLER ROOM MIGHT BE BETTER THAN MY LARGE CABIN. I PLAYED WITH THE REMOTE CONTROL SLIGHTLY AND IT SEEMED TO WORK JUST FINE, I WAS SICK OF LISTENING TO STATIC TO FULLY TEST OUT THE REMOTE. I WILL GIVE IT TO MY SON, HE LIVES IN THE CITY AND HOPEFULLY THE MUSIC SYSTEM WILL PICK UP STATIONS FOR HIM. HE USES AUXILLERY MOST OF THE TIME AND IT MIGHT BE JUST PERFECT FOR HIS SMALL DORM ROOM.

    Great sound and features
    I got this for my birthday 3 weeks ago. The music sounds great coming out of it it plays my CDs and it has a stereo. It's been awhile since I've had a music system and this is a great one to start with.

    This GPX HC425B Home Music System is a very nice little compact stereo system. The speakers are approximately ten inches high, five and a half inches wide and just over three inches depth wise. The music system is approximately nine and one half inches high, six inches wide and just over seven inches depth wise. It comes with a remote which is one and one half inches wide and three inches length wise. This is a very easy set up, easy to use music system. Sound is good. I would say it could get very loud because the speaker volume was turned up to fourteen when I tried the FM stereo and it was really, really loud. I had to turn it down to a four which was comfortable for me. This system comes with a top load CD player, FM and AM stereo. Additionally, there is a clock as seen in the photograph. Also, it has an alarm system that you can use wherein you can choose to wake with a CD (as long as you put one in), FM stereo or buzzer. It also has an Aux setting for a headphone jack, computer or smartphone, although you do need to purchase a three point five mm audio cable in order to use this mode. You can also set a sleep timer on this music system. It also has an AM/FM dimmer control. Additionally, you can pre-set twenty AM radio stations and twenty FM radio stations. It's a very nice music system and the CD player has all the features most have; repeat, skip, stop, play, pause. This is great for a beginner, older person, bedroom, extra, kids room. I set it up in my living room but because it is so compact, I am going to move to my bedroom especially in light of the alarm system and I don't currently own an alarm. Nice product!

    Very Manageable! And Good Amplification!
    Very good sound and easy listening. I'm pleased with the GPX HC425B Home Music System. Quite a few great features. Sets up in a snap! Very easy to understand directions. It came very well packaged and it is very light weight. The two speakers just need to be connected and you will need a 3.5mm AUX cable if you want to listen to your playlist on your phone or any other device. The antenna is built in. It has a professional appearance as well as sound. It almost sounds like someone is singing from behind the speakers. Also, it has a nice and clear digital clock. So effortless to operate, it comes with a full function remote control. You can relax while listening to your favorite station or CD. The CD is a top loader so that's a cinch to operate. It comes with a sleep timer so you can listen to music while falling asleep. I really like the alarm clock. You can choose to wake up to music, CD or the buzzer which increases slightly in sound. The speakers give you a sense of depth. All in all, I think the GPX HC425B Home Music System is ideal for a small to medium size room. Perfect for any room. I placed it in my kitchen and I love it! Nice clean sound and the background music sounds beautiful. I gave it four starts only because my reception isn't the best but you have to consider I live on the first floor of an apartment.

    More features than expected.
    Ok this was much smaller than I expected it was the size of a Boom Box that was popular when I was young. The major difference here was the speakers are detachable. Now when I first selected this product it was with the intention of hooking up to my TV. As soon as I lifted the speakers up I saw that that would not be the case. It does come with a itty bitty remote that literally fits in the palm of my hand. One good thing about the remote on this is that the buttons are raised and that makes it easier to use. The system itself sounded pretty well and will defiantly work for my needs even if it is not going to be the one I wanted it for. I am not one who can really handle base so I have to make sure that is way down. I like the CD player and it seems to tune in the radio stations ok. Thought I’ve never seen a radio with a snooze or sleep feature on it. I thought that was only with clock radios and TV’s. This does have more features than the boom boxes of yester year. I like it and think it will get more use that originally planned.

    Compact Size & Good Sound!
    I received this unit through the Walmart Spark Reviewer Program with the intention of using it as an alarm clock. The unit has made it as far as my kitchen. It's small size is great for so many places in my home. The sound quality is much better than I expected for a unit in it's price range, so I think it's a good value. The unit is very lightweight, so I don't get a floor-shaking bass response, but the sound is clear and balanced. The stereo features: stereo sound, CD player, a decent AM/FM digital radio, 20 pre-set memory for each radio band and built-in antennae, and a preset equalizer (jazz, bass, classic, rock, etc.). I prefer the classic. My presets remain unchanged until I change them. And it has an alarm and sleep timer, an attractive digital display with dimmer, a remote control, and even an auxiliary 3.5mm input jack which will accommodate headphones or even an mp3 player or smartphone for music. (It doesn't include the 3.5mm wire, but they are very inexpensive, if your player or phone did not come with one. The included speakers are easily connected and the wires are about 4 ft long each to separate speakers, when desired. I think this is a great unit. I think the black, sleek, low profile design will fit into about any decor. It's compact, has many features, and is well-priced. I think it's a great way to utilize portable technology for home use.     Perfect to use as alarm clock, great sounds
    It is perfect for sleep timer/wake up alarm. --There are several features I like the most: (1) Speakers are quite thin, so still left some space on the night stand for something else, like books, cups … (2) The speaker wires are long enough, so I can put the control unit somewhere else and control the unit with remote. (3) Fully function remote, includes set clock, sleep timer and alarm. (4) Aux in, so I can play music from my phone. (5) Equalizer presets, from Classic to Pop. As sleep timer/wake up alarm, I play some like music with natural sounds; the Classic setting is good enough. --The Sound quality is okay for this purpose. I also test some other CDs, includes orchestra, pop music, country music, JAZZ and heavy metal. The major drawback for the thin speakers is the lack of bass. With whatever equalizer preset, the drum always sounds like a wood stick knock the floor. For classic music, it performs much better for string quartet than full orchestra. For playing light music, it is almost perfect. This also true for playing natural sounds, such as sound of waves, rain or wind. --I would like to see some other features which are not included in this unit. (1) A battery backup for the clock in case there is a power outage the unit can store time and preset alarm. Now, I have to set clock and alarm each time manually. (2) An aux cable, it does not cost a lot, but very convenient. -- Overall, it is one of the best alarm clock with great sounds.

    The GPX HC425B Home Music System has enough sound to fill a room with volume. Out of the box, There's only four pieces The main unit, Two speakers to plug in the back, A remote control, And an instruction manual. Set up of the home music system is easy and basic once you have read the manual and make your self familiar it's operation. The features of this Home Music system are, 2 Channel stereo sound, Top load CD player CD, CD-R/RW, Digital AM and FM radio, Station memory presets 20 AM 20 FM, Aux in (3.5mm audio input located in the rear of the system, EQ presets, Digital volume control, Last user's setting memory, Negative LCD display with white backlight, Digital clock and sleep timer, Built in AM and FM antennas, Built in AC power cord.. A full function remote control. You'll be wanting to keep the remote close to the system and don't loose it. The alarm and sleep functions are available on the remote control only. The radio seems to work best if I keep the home music system close to an outside wall for best reception. The Aux jack is located in the rear of the system for plugging in a smartphone or a computer or ear buds the jack would have been easier to get to located in the front of the system. I find the system has a short AC cord also. The CD player is nice located at the top of the home music system. It has a touch pop up loading for CD's I find this feature to be nicely located.

    Perfect for my home office!
    I have had this system for 2 days and love it! I work from home and chose this unit for my home office because of limited space. It fits well on top of a regular filing cabinet. It features: 2 channel stereo sound CD player: CD, CD-R/RW Digital AM/FM radio (PLL) Station memory presets (20 FM, 20 AM) Top-load disc player Aux in (3.5mm audio input) EQ presets Digital volume control Last user's setting memory Negative LCD display with white backlight Digital clock Single alarm Sleep timer Dimmer control Full-function remote Stereo speakers Built-in FM wire antenna Built-in AM antenna AC power: built-in AC power cable The remote control is small, 2"x3", but works great from across the room.The 2 stereo speakers are mighty little things! The volume can blast you out of the room and the clarity is amazing for such a small unit! Reception for the radio is mediocre but is comparable to my other radios in the rural area where I live. This unit is perfect for an office, bedroom, dorm room. It would be decent for a larger living room or entertainment area but the single CD player may not be favorable in that setting.
