No complaints with unit, but shipper was clusy.
This is a nice little window unit I placed in my shop. Unfortunately, it sustained damage during shipping. A corner of the box had torn and had been taped up. The unit itself had a bent corner. Fortunately it did not affect its function. It cools quite nicely.

Doesn't hold up
I purchased this air conditioner last May. It only made it till September before would no longer cool. I'm now shopping for a new ac for this year as I'm writing this. The ac I had before this was a Frigidaire and lasted several years. I thought GE was a good name so chose that one out of all of them. That was clearlyba mistake.

    Different Settings
I love my air condition. I love the fact that it has different settings to choose from. I am the type of person that gets cold fast. So the different setting allow me to select the best option that will allow me to get cool enough but not cold.

Small, effective and a lifesaver on a hot day.
A life saver this hot summer. It actually fit (barely) in my 2nd floor tiny dormer window. I didn't think that would even be possible! I live in a 50s era cape may style house. All the heat in the summer comes right up to the 2nd floor where I work from home. I do have a central A/C system but it just isn't powerful enough on hot days. This unit makes up the difference. It's convential dial controlled. There is no remote control. It's not pretty. But who cares about that? I don't think there is any great energy efficiency here, but it's still cheaper than my previous mobile internal unit with a hose out the window. Happy with the purchase.

    Good At First
It worked great for about 2 months even though its made very cheap. I noticed a few days water sitting in the vent about the knob compartment. By the very next day it wasn't cooling as well. 2 days later it still isn't cooling as well. Doubt this will make to the end of summer! good thing its walmart. I can buy a new one and return this one.

    Lifesaver
This air conditioner went to a friend in Oregon. As you may know, the West coast states have been suffering through terribly hot weather. My friend lives in a 1910 house with only one old window unit. I sent this one to her to help keep her cool. She is loving it!

You won't be disappointed. Get the GE
Great smaller unit. Cools a much bigger area then stated. Easy setup, easy to operate. So glad that I went with the GE. I am 68 years old and I installed it by myself. My windows are so narrow that I couldn't use the sides, so had to do some modifying. I cut and used the corner cardboards from the packing and taped just the accordion pieces into place. No hot air is getting in. I have a 15' hallway that I put a fan in to help pull the cool air to the back of my apartment. So right now she is cooling a 180 sq ' livingroom, an 80 sq' kitchen and a 150 sq' bedroom and also a very long hall. It's been really humid besides temps in the 80's and 90's so I did remove the little plug for water drainage.

    Waste of money
I've had it less than a year and it's already stopped working.

    Love it
It does what it is supposed to. I would put this in a single.room and expect it to only cool that room. It is a small unit! I put it in my livingroom and the air doesn't reach to other rooms. But it did say that it was for small rooms! I actually really.like it though. For 140 it was a great buy and will be buying at least 2 more! It also comes with the supplies to fit into the window!

    Tiny and Powerful
First let me start by saying i dont normally wrote reviews so you know this is going to be a good one! At first i thought theres no way to find a ac unit thats small enought to fit into my teeny tiny finished attic windows... i was wrong. Second, i thought even if i find a compact unit its not going to be powerful enough to cool it off ... i was wrong again! This unit fit perfectly into my window and cooled off the entire loft. I did take a sheet and septerate the space at first. One side my son plays on and on the other is a spare bedroom. The sheet is definitely optional my only benefit is I'm able to keep the unit on low instead of high. If youre looking but not sure, look no further. If i wasnt disappointed you wont be either, im very critical with products. Also little tip make sure you measure where the screen holders are. I did have to take out the entire set up for the screens for that extra 1/2 of an inch.
