Very Handy
This is a nifty little device that has taken the guess work out of grilling, baking, and frying. I'm guilty of overcooking chicken (better over than under, right?). Well, no longer! This works quickly, efficiently, and the sellers even threw in the battery. Very convenient, easy to use, and it fits in a pocket. There are multiple settings, so no mater if you use Fahrenheit or Celsius, you're covered. It folds for easy storage, and it has a handy light for grilling dinner at night. Very nice.

I needed this so bad
I have always used the thermometers with the spinning dial that you have to wait to get to the full temperature. You never know if it's done and if you use it more than a few times the steam and heat eventually makes it not work and then it gets rusty. This one is so much easier. You put it in the meat, it takes the temperature and shows you digitally what it is. You know when it's done calculating so there's no guessing if it's right or wrong and it's a lot faster than the dial kind. It's small and easy to use. I wish I had this years ago.

    Great Tool
    The Expert Grill Digital Instant Read Thermometer is a great tool for a variety of cooking. I recently got an air fryer and have been concerned I've been either overcooking or undercooking food. So I thought one of these would be a great idea to find out if my food is hitting the required temperature for safe consumption. It's quick and easy to use. You need one AAA battery for it to work. I used a Ni-MH rechargeable and it seems to work just fine. It is saying the battery is low, but that's not necessarily out of the ordinary for Ni-MH batteries as they're typically 1.2v where alkaline batteries are 1.5v. To use it, you just turn it on with the switch on the side and extend the temperature probe. The digital display has a nice blue backlight that makes it easy to read. Insert the probe into whatever it is you want to test and it shows a temperature reading on the display instantly. It has a hold button so you can keep the temperature reading on screen. There's also a timer function that can count up or down. The count down will act as a timer and has an alarm that goes off at the end. It isn't particularly loud, so that's something to keep in mind. Even though this temperature probe is intended for grilling, there's no reason you can't use it for everything food related that requires a temperature check. I've been using it to make sure the chicken I cook in the air fryer and microwave has been hitting at least 165 F, which is the minimum safe temperature for microwaved food, and as high as 190 F for some food items. You can find a chart online that will tell you what temperature you should be reaching. This is a great little tool, compact, fast and easy to use. There's no reason to not give it 5 stars.

    A MUST HAVE!!!!
    I love grilling but I am always afraid that I am going to undercook or overcook my food items. This meat thermometer is exactly what I needed and I no longer have to worry about those issues anymore. I love how easy this meat thermometer is to use and operate. The directions were very easy to follow. I really like how easy it is to read the temperature numbers. The numbers are large and there is also a backlight that makes reading the temperatures so much easier. The probe is very sturdy and durable. I really like that the probe is foldable and does not stick out when not in use. A great feature about this meat thermometer is that it has a on and off switch which is perfect so you do not waste the battery life. Putting the battery in was a little difficult. I had to use a knife to pop open the battery cover. I do like that this meat thermometer only uses one AAA battery which is included. This meat thermometer is not only great for when you are grilling but it is also great when you are cooking in your kitchen. I am very impressed with this meat thermometer and it is definitely a must have in all homes. I highly recommend this product.

    Easy display
    I love cooking, but I always worry about whether or not meats reach the required temperature. The thermometer is small, compact, and easy to use. The display is a little larger than my last thermometer making it easier to see. It gives you a reading in seconds. It gives a digital temperature and the screen lights up so it is easy to see. The tool is easy to clean and store. I would recommend to anyone looking for a meat thermometer.

    Expert Grill Pocket Digital Instant Read
    The Expert Grill Pocket Digital Instant Read Meat Grilling Thermometer is a very versatile thermometer. Great for cooking meat indoors and outdoors on the grill. It's got an LED that lights up and shows you the temperature which comes in handy when you're outside at night. It comes with a AAA battery and it has an on / off switch on the side. I like that idea because you can turn it off so that you don't waste the battery. It folds up nicely so the probe doesn't stick out when you're not using it. It's built very sturdy and strong. The directions take a little bit to understand if you've never used a thermometer like this, but once you read them a few times, you'll understand how to use this thermometer correctly. I've also used this thermometer to test my air conditioner. I wasn't sure if the air was coming out cold enough, so I held the probe by the air conditioner to get a reading on how cold the output of the air was. It was right on the money. Good solid build on this thermometer. Really love it. One thing to note : be gentle when you open up the battery compartment. You can gently pry it open with your fingernail or you can use a butter knife and gently pry it open. Don't use force, it will open with a gentle prodding.

    Whole kitchen thermometer
    I know it says it's for the grill but we use it in the kitchen way more. It reads temps in a few seconds. I check it the same way we check thermometers in the kitchens at work, in ice water, and it seems to be accurate. I like the lit up digital display, it is easy to read. Another feature we use is the timer, we really like that a lot.

    Accurate and Quick Display.
    I tried my Expert Grill Pocket Digital Thermometer on some Brats that I always overcook. The internal temp. for the brats is 160 deg. according to the manufacture and I hit it at 162 deg. so that was pretty close, and not being over-cooked or burnt they tasted really good. There is no doubt I will be using it on more of my cooking attempts. It cleans easily and is handy in your pocket, especially with the timer in the handle of the Pocket thermometer, someone was really thinking ahead on this one.

    pretty slick thermometer
    I only ever used a meat thermometer a few times in these last years since we had been grilling more. Always wanted to try a digital one. I found that this one with the handle, make it easier to place into the meat or chicken, and not be placing your fingers so close to the fire. I keep the directions handy to learn what each button means, and I like very much that it has an on off switch, so you don't have to waste battery use. Sometimes I think things with auto shut off, I never quite know if they remain on longer than needed. I will be happy to let my husband use it so he can stop under-cooking or over cooking when he grills!

    Great Gadget Would Buy it Again
    I ordered this digital thermometer at 3am today and had no idea I would get it so fast. It arrived at 5pm by coincidence, I kid you not, I had just pulled broiled pork chops out of the oven and was wondering if they were done. If you don't cook them long enough to kill the bacteria of course, they can make you sick and these were 2 days past due for cooking. You don't want to cook them too long as the pork chops will be dried out. Well here the thermometer came as I had just pulled these chops out of the oven. I hurriedly as fast as you can get into one of those unfriendly hard plasticated packages I detest. Ripped it open with a knife and ran to find a AAA battery as it doesn't come with one. Cleaned the temp probe with soapy water and quickly stuck it into my meat to find an instant read of 165 F. degrees. I was so proud of myself for purchasing such a nifty and useful Item. Sometimes I over cook chicken, being afraid it won't be done; so, I am delighted to get this useful food safety tool for my kitchen. Who cares about the grill, this is my new found best kitchen gadget. Pros: Works Well and Quickly, Easy to Read Digital Readout, Cute Red color, and the Probe part folds up to the body like a jackknife. Con: Doen''t come with the AAA battery supplied so make sure you have one handy if you need to use it right away as I did.
