PUT YOUR MONEY TOWARDS BETTER QUALITY CABLES
Plugged them in, nothing happened. Twenty minutes later had to turn the donor car off because the cables melted. I literally have the melted wires stuck to my car now as a permanent reminder never to buy something cheap again. When the triple AAA guy got there, he took one look at the MELTED wires on the ground and said they were never going to start my car back up. Learn from my mistakes and get something with good quality. I thought I was unlucky till I saw a review with the same results as mine.

    DO NOT BUY!!!!!!
    THESE CABLES SMOKED MY BATTERY, MELTED ON MY CAR, CAUGHT FIRE!!!!!! I have damage on my car now from where these cheap, ineffective cables melted.

    Jumper Cables Melted - first use out of the box
    I used the EverStart Plus 12 ft 8 gauge booster cables to try to jump my car, a 2017 Toyota Corolla. The jumper cables had never been used before - they had ridden around in my car since the time of purchase for exactly this situation. It was a cold day and my battery was old, so the car just wouldn't start from where I had parked it in the middle of downtown. So, I got a very good connection between the other car's battery, my battery, and the engine frame. After a few minutes of charging, I tried cranking my car, but the car wouldn't start. So, I kept charging the battery. My son called me over with alarm in his voice - the cables were melting. I quickly disconnected the cables and threw them to the ground. I got some hot plastic on my shoes and on my car but no real harm done. I ended up calling roadside assistance. The tow truck guy came and had a power box and charged my car really quickly and said the battery was taking a charge fine. So, I am deeply disappointed in these cables. I feel lucky no one was hurt.

    Decent emergency jumper cables
    Nice set of cables, good length and moderate gauge thickness. Can't rate how well they work since they are a starter set being given as a present. They appear to be well constructed, and easily unravel; so they should work quite decently.
