I'm In Love With My Chromecast!
Today I had an opportunity to set up my Chromecast. Initially I was a bit intimidated because I thought it would be difficult to set up or take a long time. This couldn't be further than the truth. It took me about 20 minutes to set everything up and it probably would have taken less time, if my internet was faster. Once I set everything up, I was able to play movies and tv shows instantly.
This Chromecast came right on time. I have a tv that I lost the remote to so I couldn't watch anything but regular tv. I didn't bother to set it up with any other streaming system so it's just been sitting up for months, not being watched, what a waste.
Now with the Chromecast I will watch my tv all of the time instead of using my cellphone. All of the channels are clear and it only take a few seconds to switch from one show to another. I can easily get to YouTube or Netflix via the remote, by a simple press of the button. The remote is also voice controlled so I can easily control what I want to watch or listen to from my space.
Overall, would I recommend this product to others? YES! I plan to use my Chromecast for many years to come. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Extremely disappointed
A few days after I bought it, and everything worked, an update was installed, and the remote stopped working. I had to restore the older version of the firmware, to make it work again.
since then, every few weeks 8t installs that firmware, and the remote stops working.
I read that many other people experience the same problem, so it's not accidental, neither is it happening only to me.
I can't believe google could drop such a poorly written software on the market, and not fix it for many months
I bought a Roku Express, and never had such a problem.

This is trash. The box came with a fake seal and with one of the batteries already in the remote showing it was used. The cords unorganized just tossed in. I still tried to make it work and plug it into the tv to get nothing but a dumb green arrow that has been stuck for over 30mins. I unplugged and re-plugged it and still nothing.Cynthia

Found that new batteries made the remote work better than the ones that came with it. Also, plugging the power into the TV USB made it not turn on all the time. Changing it to plugging into the wall outlet made it work first time, every time. It allowed me to uninstall the apps I don't want, and install all the apps I do want very easily. Making my 15 year old TV into a smart TV! Also connects to my computer with ease, just click on "cast" on my Chrome search screen (Listed under Google Account at right upper corner of screen). Later bought an Android TV with Chromecast built-in. So I don't need the external plug-in device anymore, but I use it anyway. Since this device remote is easier to navigate than the one that came with the TV. I have the Android TV connected to Ethernet, and this Google Chromecast connected to WIFI so I can use either one. Both seem to work just as good.Sandy
