This Camp Pack is AWESOME!
I really love this collection of camping tools. All of the items are incredibly sharp, well made and fit nicely in my hand. It is great that the knife and the hatchet both includes a sheath to keep safe around my family for our camping trips. Having a sharpener included is a great idea to keep the tools nice and sharp. I like the lockback saw size and it fits nicely in the pocket of my pants or in the pocket of my camping bag. I highly recommend this camping kit.

Nice features, but missing key elements
Overall, I am not impressed with this kit. Both the ax and the knife have slippery, plastic feeling hands, that don't feel like you could keep a good grip on them, unless you are wearing a pair of gloves with a grippy surface. The saw has a nice rubberized handle, which is comfortable. All three tools are sharp out of the package, with nice nylon sheaths for the knife and ax. The sharpening stone is nothing that I would use. The handle of the knife is also quite small. I would not be comfortable using it, as it doesn't feel safe. If you have smaller hands, it would be fine. This would be a great gift for a responsible child to have while camping IF the handles of the knife and ax weren't so slick. Because of that, I don't think I would give this to my son to use, as it might result in an injury.

    Good basic low cost camp tools.
    I'm not a fan of the saw, I find it slow, but, I am used to cutting with a pull Japanese tree saws, which are expensive, extremely sharp, so I'm a bad judge on this. It does get the job done, you just wouldn't want to use it seriously clearing trails. The knife is on the small Iength side, the blade. Still its functions around a camp when you need a knife. it is sharp. I wouldn't try processing wood with it, blade too small for one thing, it's more a kitchen, line cutter, fishing tool. It's a nice knife, no real complaints. The ax well it's not something you would use to fell trees. It's more of an ax for control, small limbs, sculpting wood cuts. So, for my twig stove it's perfect. You can chop a limb, it chips away fine, just take your time, it lacks the head weight, to be driven hard, but the narrow blade is ideal for shaping things, like wood tent pegs. You into friction firestartering, it's ideal, replacing a knife. Wracking along a piece of wood to feather out some curls for a flame to catch, again, that thin blade is great, especially of the wood uses in twig cook stoves. It's like a tool you might use on shaping timber. It's the thin blade profile that makes it a gem. It's like a sharp knife on a handle stick, it's a joy to use that way, it has a tomahawk vibe. It's also is easy to sharpen. The ax is my favorite.

    Camping ready
    Edges were very sharp and held well. Saw was super sharp and cut fast and clean. All items have very comfortable handles with no hot spots. I didn't have to use the stone but It looks like it is of good quality. I wish the sheaths were a little better.

    Enjoyed having this on my weekend excursion recently. The axe was well made and balanced the saw well made sharp and effective. The knife held its edge and was plenty strong abetted sheath would be nice but perfectly serviceable.

    Nice little set , this is a decent set to take camping or just keep in your car or around the house , i would say its good for light to moderate work , probanly not heavy everyday use though , but for the price per tool , i think its pretty good

    Great Saw, Good knife, So-so Hatchet
    I'll look at this kit in the scope of normal camp tasks, so I generally rate this as a good set, but not great. For preparing firewood, the saw is the best part of this kit, really awesome, very sturdy, saws really well, and feels great in the hand with the soft rubber overmold handle. The Hatchet however suffers from some design issues. It is super lightweight due to the head being a piece of 1/8" steel plate bolted to the plastic handle. This means the very thin back is not suitable for driving tent stakes unless you are super-accurate with your aim. The way the handle attaches to the thin head means that the head is not a wedge shape, so it is difficult to split firewood other than very small kindling. The hatchet is nice and sharp, so it does well enough chopping small branches, but the very light weight head makes it less effective on larger pieces of wood. The small, sturdy sheath knife is a good performer for usual camp tasks such as food preparation. In my largish hands, it works well if I hold the blade between thumb and forefinger, and hold the handle with the rest of my hand. It's very nice that the axe and knife have quality sheaths and the saw locks securely closed, which protects all the sharp edges. It's also nice that this kit includes a sharpening stone. All-in-all a well made kit that's let down by the too-light hatchet design.

    A great tool pack to take on a camping trip!
    I like how Camillus has these packs with multiple tools. It takes the guess work out of having to figure out what an outdoors person needs for a specific outing. This package has 3 tools and comes with 2 sheaths, the third tool folds in on itself.
