Upgraded Acers. Great brand always good computers. Had my last one for 7 years and just now needed to upgrade to this one. This one runs so fast and the graphics are the best I've seen in a computer. Highly recommend.

Stop thinking and BUY IT already!
Honestly, I dont know how anyone can complain about this machine at this price. I have purchased a lot of gaming laptops over the years and they were all significantly pricier than this one. I stepped away from gaming about a year ago because I just didn't have the time. But the since the pandemic hit I found myself wanting to game again but didn't want to spend an insane amount of money on a machine I may not use much or for very long. This machine has far surpassed any expectation I had for it. It punches way above its weight class! The graphics card is a beast and easily plays games in very high to ultra settings. No tearing or shuddering on the screen. I will say the panel isn't as bright or vivid as I would have wished but its nit picking and at this price point its more than acceptable. Let's be honest if what you want is the most blazing fast, highest fps beast out there.......this isn't going to get it done. But to get that, you are also going to spend 2 or 3 times as much. But if what you want is a solid machine that will allow you to play all of your games with plenty of detail without breaking the bank.....this is the machine for you! I got it on sale here for $769......for that price it was a no Brainer! But even at the normal $849 or 899 price, you can't go wrong!
I like it, but it has its quirks
Nowhere else will you find a laptop with these specs at this price. It can handle almost the highest settings for the newest games. There are two things that bug me though: 1. It gets HOT. If you don't mess with any settings, the CPU will easily reach 200 degrees F and stay there. I found that putting it in "power saver" mode and manually setting the fans at full blast will keep it below 180 F. That doesn't seem to affect gameplay much. 2. I bought this laptop mainly to play at my desk, but I like the option of going mobile with it. However, it has only 1 native external video output. Outputting video through USB has a bit of lag. I have a second monitor hooked through an old USB video card which I use for monitoring discord. That works well enough for me since I'm not using the second monitor for gaming purposes.
Good gaming laptop with battery limitation
Laptop is plenty fast for your gaming needs! The only thing I do not like about this laptop is that I only get about 1 hour battery life while gaming. Seems that this laptop is only meant for gaming while plugged into the wall and even then your battery depletes slowly.

Overclocked cpu when it came in
First of all, it's a solid product. It obviously can do simple browsing the web, and can run games as it should. However, when I received it, my cpu temperatures would rise to 90 degrees Celsius, and that was because the cpu was being clocked at almost 4 GHz instead of 2.4 GHz as it should've been. Since we couldn't find the option to turn down the frequency of the CPU in the BIOS, we had to download an external app to turn it down. I say beware of this, and constantly see if there's a solution to overheating problems. Be sure to download GeForce experience to be able to optimize your games. Overall a solid product.
Amazing budget gaming laptop.
If you are using this laptop mostly for gaming you should be very impressed. The build feels very nice. The screen doesnt have the best specs but I personally love it. The laptop is incredibly fast due to the nvme SSD plus the HDD is a great option for a budget laptop. Most importantly, the performance on this thing is impressive. Ran Overwatch on ultra settings at a constant 144hz. Im sure it can held Epic settings easily. Wifi 6 also very fast. Cons: backlit keyboard is ONLY in red. Not just that but the keys are pretty dark so you would need it on most of the time. So not sure if you can take this into a business meeting but personal use is perfect. Smudges are veryyyy noticeable on this thing. I have to wash my hands right before using or else it just looks bad. Overall, Id still strongly recommend.
Good gaming performance, CPU runs too hot.
This laptop is much more well rounded than others I have tested with GTX 1660Ti and AMD Ryzen 5 which exhibited severe CPU bottlenecking. The GPU seems to run around 98% utilization and ~75°C while playing Control with RTX on, and the game runs smoothly for the most part. I do notice some occasional hiccups which are likely due to inadequate CPU cooling. In every game I have tried, the CPU sits at 92°C with the fans at 100% and ~50% CPU utilization. If the CPU is this hot at 50% use, then there is NO WAY you can expect full CPU performance in heavy CPU workloads. While I haven't experienced any CPU bottleneck issues with this PC, it does appear that there are some CPU thermal throttling issues. The GPU does not appear to suffer from any thermal problems. One other HUGE issue I have with this laptop is that Acer does not provide the functionality to limit the battery charge to somewhere ideally between 50% and 80%. Every other major laptop maker offers this feature to protect the battery from accelerated degredation due to sitting plugged-in all of the time. This feature alone is enough for me to decide whether or not to keep a laptop, so I will likely be returning this machine. The keyboard on this laptop feels good, but the layout is a little bit funky: the home and delete keys are swapped compared to normal keyboards, the caps lock and num lock keys do not have indicator lights, and the num pad math operators are laid out in a different-than-typical pattern. One great feature of this keyboard is full sized arrow keys! Overall, this laptop performs well. It plays games like Warzone and Control very smoothly, and the 144Hz display is a great touch! Although, do not expect to get over 60 FPS in either of these titles with medium to high settings. If you use applications that will stress the CPU to the max, then I would not recommend this product due to thermal issues, but games seem to function fine (at very high CPU temperature).

It runs HOT!!!
As a very knowledgeable PC enthusiast all I can say is this, the cooling in this laptop is great on the GPU. The biggest downside is the CPU cooling and I say that because after playing one match on Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the CPU temps spiked to 90 degrees Celsius. The GPU hovered around 70-80 C. Unless you plan on changing the thermal paste on this and voiding your warranty, it's probably best to stick to separate work and gaming computers. Other than temps, the 144hz panel is great and angles are nice but the keyboard is a bit cheesy since it's all red and there is no option to change the color. The SSD is fast for booting and took no longer than 8 seconds to get to the windows desktop. The i5 is lacking in performance and is demolished by it's Ryzen counterpart. I feel this is because it is thermal throttling so if you have better performance from this, then I hope this laptop lasts you a good long time.
Great performance but super cheap build
Bought this laptop to use for gaming obviously. However the screen is dull and the colors are all washed out. Its made of all plastic and feels cheap and stiff. It gets so hot that it burns your fingertips if you play any modern game. However it does run the games at the highest settings with little problem. The nitrosense program helps with the cooling and is quite neat but the fans are crazy loud.
