Poor quality cable, not worth installing even free
After installing less than 100' of this cable from our router through the attic to a home office, I was majorly disappointed in several things: 1) The cable feels cheap, it was much lighter in weight than other cat 6 cable I've used. 2) The blue plastic sleeve covering the wires is very weak and tears almost like cardboard. The resulted in the sleeve tearing open in several places as the cable is being pulled through walls, and ceiling. 3) The blue plastic sleeve is so loose on the inner wires that when pulling the cable the sleeve pulled off the wires by over 6 inches. 4) The 8 inner wires are not made of copper, but instead are made of twisted aluminum fibers. This made it almost impossible to punch down on a female ethernet end. 5) 2 of the 8 inner aluminum wires was covered in a different quality of plastic from the other 6. These 2 were so hard to strip that the plastic stretched instead of tearing off. Also, this plastic on these 2 wires was imbedded into the aluminum fibers. This resulted in the female end not making a connection after being punched down. Even after many attempts the only way a good connection was able to be made in the female end was by stripping the wires back before punching them down. (this should not be necessary). 6) Lastly and most egregious, as a result of the poor quality of cable the less than 100' foot section of cable I used maxed out at less than 100 Mbps speed. It should have maxed out instead with my ISPs speed like all the other rooms in my house to 790Mbps. The cable bottlenecks the speed. Cat 6 Cable should have a theoretical speed of 10 Gbps (over 100 times faster).

    Great for the price.
    Its not the highest heavy duty quality. But its great for the price. It does its job. Will buy it again if I need to. Since my dogs started chewing on it. Its great for the price!!!
